The major systems checked
- Engine — leaks, compression signs, cooling system, belts and hoses
- Transmission and drivetrain — shift quality, fluid condition, slipping
- Brakes — pad and rotor wear, lines, response and pull
- Suspension and steering — bushings, struts, alignment clues
- Frame and structure — evidence of collision or hidden repair
- Electronics — warning lights, sensors, infotainment, charging system
- Safety systems — airbags, seatbelts, lights and tires
