Know the truth before you buy any used vehicle.
Our flagship service. A CarLens Certified Pre-Purchase Inspection is a comprehensive, independent evaluation of a used vehicle before you commit to buying it. We come to the car, inspect it inside and out, scan its computer, document everything with photos, and deliver a clear Vehicle Decision Report™ — so your decision is based on facts, not hope.

Anyone buying a used vehicle from a private seller, a dealership, or an online listing who wants an unbiased, professional opinion before handing over their money.
A used vehicle is one of the largest purchases most people make, yet the typical buyer commits thousands of dollars after a ten-minute test drive and a friendly conversation. The problem is that the issues that cost the most to fix — a slipping transmission, a tired timing chain, hidden collision repair, or an engine that is one heat cycle away from a head-gasket failure — almost never reveal themselves in a quick drive around the block.
A CarLens pre-purchase inspection replaces optimism with evidence. For a small fraction of the vehicle price, a trained, independent inspector evaluates the car the way a mechanic would before their own family bought it. If the vehicle is sound, you buy with total peace of mind. If it is not, you either walk away before losing money or use our documented findings to negotiate a lower price. Either way, the inspection pays for itself.
CarLens goes far beyond a visual once-over. We evaluate the engine and transmission for leaks, noise, and performance; check the brakes, rotors, and suspension for wear; measure tire tread depth on all four corners; and inspect the frame and undercarriage for rust and structural damage — a real concern in coastal Florida where salt air accelerates corrosion.
Under the hood we review fluids, belts, hoses, the battery, and the cooling system. Inside the cabin we test electronics, climate control, safety features, and comfort systems. Finally, we connect an OBD-II scanner to read stored and pending diagnostic trouble codes — the same computer data a seller can temporarily clear but cannot hide from a proper scan. Every meaningful finding is photographed so nothing is left to memory or interpretation.
After the inspection you receive a Vehicle Decision Report™ written in plain English — not a cryptic checklist. It opens with an executive summary and a CarLens Confidence Score™ that tells you, at a glance, how the vehicle stacks up. From there you get a 24-month ownership cost forecast, a breakdown of every system we checked, 30 to 50 high-resolution photos, and a clear recommendation: buy, negotiate, or walk away.
That report becomes a tool you can use immediately. Bring documented brake wear or an active check-engine code to the seller and the conversation shifts in your favor. Buyers routinely recover several times the cost of the inspection in negotiation alone.
Booking takes a few minutes online. Choose your inspection, pick a date and time, and tell us where the car is. Because CarLens is fully mobile, we travel to the seller, the dealership lot, or any agreed meeting point across Northeast Florida — you never have to move the vehicle. On site, our inspector performs the full evaluation, typically in 60 to 90 minutes, and captures detailed photos throughout.
You receive your report the same day in most cases, so you can make a confident decision before the deal slips away. Have questions after reading it? Call us and we will walk you through the findings in language that makes sense.
A CarLens Certified Pre-Purchase Inspection is $199; the Exotic Inspection for luxury and high-performance vehicles is $249. Both include the full 200-point inspection, OBD-II scan, 30–50 photos, and the Vehicle Decision Report™.
We come to you. CarLens is fully mobile and inspects vehicles at the seller’s home, the dealership lot, or any agreed meeting point across Northeast Florida.
The on-site inspection usually takes 60–90 minutes, and your written report with photos is typically delivered the same day.
You get documented evidence — photos, codes, and measurements — that lets you either walk away or negotiate a lower price. Many buyers save far more than the cost of the inspection.
Most reputable dealers allow it, and a dealer who refuses is telling you something worth knowing. We simply arrange a time to inspect the car on their lot.
